Welcome to the Western North Carolina Objectivists website. WNCO is a club for Hendersonville/Asheville, NC-area residents who share an interest in Objectivism.
Objectivism is the name given to the philosophy of Ayn Rand. Many people are familiar with the works of Ayn Rand through her best-selling novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Since the publishing of Atlas Shrugged in 1957, most of her work was devoted to further development the philosophy and its application to people's lives and current events.

What is Objectivism?
Briefly, Objectivism is a philosophy which asserts that there is an objective reality, that we humans are capable of understanding it, and that, from this, an objective code of values can be derived to guide our choices and actions. WNCO is an organization for those in the Hendersonville, NC area who are committed to Objectivism and for those who want to learn more about it. At this writing, WNCO is in its formative stages. Various seminars, discussion topics and events will be organized in accordance with the level of interest of members and visitors to events.
